Katrena, This is Paula Have you found any more on OUR great great greatgrandmother. This is what I have
We have reason to believe that Leah Pitts is buried in Montague, Wise or Cooke County Texas and that she died about 1856.
Also have reason to believe that Leah may have been a nickname for Elizabeth. If this proves to be true then I believe that This Leah is the daughter of Burwell Pitts.

Here is another lead on parents and etc for Leah.
I would think our Elizabeth Leah Gertrude P. b. 1816, Robertson Co. Tn., also descends from Arthur Pitt's line, since he was the patriarch of the family in that area. Do you have any information on Arthur Pitt of Robertson Co.?

According to the census of Roberson County Tennessee in the year 1820 There are only a few choices for Elizabeth Leah Pitts father.
They are: Bartley Pitts who is shown with 2 sons below the age of 10,1 son from 10 to 16, himself between the age of 26 and under 45. 2 daughters under age 10 and one female between the age of 10 and 16. Listed as Bartlett he is still in Roberson Co. Tennessee in 1830. Bartlet is in Carroll Co. Missouri in 1840.He is in Lamar Co Texas in the census of 1850.

Burwell Pitts with 2 sons under age 10,1 son from 10 to 16, 1 son from 16 to 18,1 won under the age of 26, and one male 26 to 45. 1 female under age 10, 2 females from age 10 to 16, one from 16 to 26

Arthur Pitt and John Pitt are the only men with daughters under 10 in Roberson Co. in 1820.
