Rhonda, my ancestor, John Pitner, lived in Pennsylvania in the early-mid 1700s. There seem to have been two John Pitners in PA at that time -- 1) the son of Lambert Pitner and 2) my John's family. I have never been able to pinpoint his parents or where he came from. The will of Elizabeth Pitner Maxey (widow of Edward Maxey) stated John's wife was Barbary Ricker, of Philadelhia. Later this John and Barbary Pitner deeded land to John Nave in Virginia. We know that John and Bargary Pitner had a daughter, Elizabeth, who married Edward Maxey. After their stay in Virginia all of my Pitners moved south to Tennessee and Georgia.
