Allen Deforest Pitcher, Jeremiah Pitcher, WilHelmas Pitcher, NY State
My grandfather Allen Deforest Pitcher was born Jan. 5, 1868 at Newark Valley, NY. His father was Harrison Pitcher, born 4/4/1841, town of Maine, Broom Co. NY. He died 1/3/1919. His father was WilHemas Pitcher, born 12/1777, died 12/11/1849, Albany Co. NY. My grandfather's mother was Eunice (Hollenbeck) Pitcher, born 9/1806, town of Knox, Albany Co. NY. She died 9/3/1850, probably at Maine, NY. Eunice's father was Jacob A. Hollenbeck, born 1/1778, probably Albany Co., NY. Died 2/11/1851. Does anyone out there have additional information on this family?

Pitcher Family Information
I read your message, but do not understand where you relate to Jeremiah D. Pitcher in the message. However, I do have a Jeremiah D. Pitcher in my family records. He is the son of John George Pitcher. He was born in the Town of Sharon, Schoharie County NY in the year of 1820. I don't know the exact date, but he was killed in the Civil War. He was married to Elmira, I have no last name for her. I hope this info. is of some help to you. I have my family history from the early part of 1700. Sandy ,

Our Jeremiah Pitcher was born 1799, Town of Knox, Albany Co., NY. He died January 3, 1919. It does not say where. He was the father of my grandfather, Allen Deforest Pitcher. Jeremiah was married to Eunice Hollenbeck Pitcher, who was born September 1806, Town of Knox, Albany Co., NY. She died September 3, 1850, probably at Maine, NY.
Jeremiah's father was WilHelmas Pitcher, who was born 1777, Albany Co., NY, died December 11, 1849. His wife was Eva (?) Pitcher, born December 1792, Albany Co., NY.
Do any of these dates coincide with your Pitchers? Betsy

Sorry Betsy, I do not see anything around the dates that you have, nor do the names that you have show up in my family history, But it was a try any way. I wish you luck with your "Perry Mason" Sluthing in the future.

Jeremiah Pitcher--mistake made!
I made a mistake in earlier reports: It should be as follows:
Allen Deforest Pitcher, born Jan. 5, 1868, Newark Valley, NY Harrison Pitcher, born July 4, 1841, Maine, Broome Co., NY Jeremiah Pitcher, born Jan. 1799, Knox, Albany, Co. NY WilHelmas Pitcher, born Dec. 1777, Albany Co., NY
These are the birth dates I have in the family tree my grandfather Allen Deforest Pitcher made in 1915. Please look and see if these people and dates match. Betsy Greenway

I wonder if you have in your family history a david pitcher born about 1824 in Schoharie County and married to a Nancy Zhe from Albany County. They apparently raised their family near Berkshire or Newark Valley, New York. They had four daughters that I know of Juliette, Chastina, Estella and Alma born from 1855 to 1863..Estella married Franklin Saddlemire and lived near Newark Valley. I would appreciate any information. thanks, Doug

Hi, Doug:
I wish I could say I have a David, but I don't YET! You are the first PITCHER that I have heard from. Your David would be about the age of the children of my gggrandfather, Jeremiah Pitcher. Emohrain was born in 1825. Harrison, my great grandfather was born in 1841 in Broom County. My grandfather was born in 1865 in Newark Valley. Jeremiah's father, WilHelmas (Albany Co.), may have had other children, making another line, but I don't have that information at this time. Wish I did. If all these Pitchers came from Albany County, as did WilHelmas, and ended up in Newark Valley, you would think they would be related.
Do you have any other names of Pitchers in your list? I have found other Pitchers in the City Directories, that I don't recognize, but they seem to have followed our Pitchers about...

david and his family are the only pitchers in my line. One of his daughters married a Saddlemire( my mothers family) and I have pretty much gathered the Saddlemire and was curious about the Pitchers.. Saddlemires also came from Knox, Albany County, New York. Thanks for looking for me and responding. doug

A cousin of my grandfather Pitcher, Ransom J. Zimmer (b. abt 1840)married Martha A. Saddlemier (b. 1848). He was from Newark Valley and she was from Knox, Albany Co. Do you have anything on this family? I have a couple of other Saddlemiers listed earlier, Frederick (1808), Jacob, Joseph, Margaret Liphena (1850), and Margarethe (1778). I haven't done any research on this line yet, just have the names because of marriages, usually to Zimmers.

Several of the Saddlemires in my line married Zimmers. Unfortunely, I do not have access to all my records right now so I can not tell you which names I have.. I do have a Frederick Saddlemire who was born 5 Oct 1808 in Knox, Albany Co. New York to Jacob Saddlemire born 8 Aug 1783 died 24 May 1867 and Hanna Brott born Jan 1788 and Died 11 May 1856.
