Re: OOPS that's ABNER PITCHER Rev War Soldier, b East Ripley Chautauqua Co Ny
My Pitchers were also from Jefferson County (Watertown, Watertown Center, and Adams Center) and I was born in Watertown and lived there until 1960 when I went into the Air Force. It appears that my Pitchers may have lived in Wayne County, NY before coming to Oneida/Jefferson County in the early 1800s. Other than my great grandfather Gabriel and his brother Waldron, the rest of these Pitchers disappeared. There were several Pitchers living in Oswego County immediately to the south of Jefferson County (not to be confused with Owego County) and Lewis County which is east of Jefferson. These Pitchers appear to be of English extraction and do not appear to be related to my Pitchers. Due to no English ties my Pitcher line may be of Dutch or Palatine lineage with a possible Mohawk Indian connection. Hope this is of some help to you as you do not have a connection with Jefferson County or New York State. Pat

Hi I was wondering if you have ever come across a Horace Pitcher, he was born around 1790's, he married Phoebe Burnett, they lived in Schoharie County, NY. They are my g.g.g.grandparents and I haven't been able to trace them back any further. Any info you may have would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I'm sorry at this time I don't have any info on a Horace Pitcher. I will keep my eyes open though, maybe I will run across him.
