Our Loren Edwin PITCHER had 7 children and 4 of them were born in Carleton, Monroe co., but we don't know for sure if it was the state of Michigan or the state of New York. Both of these states have a city called Carleton which is in the county of Monroe. The names of the children are Maria Elinoria PITCHER (b. 24 Sep 1835), Dothe PITCHER (b. 4 Jul 1843), Electa Jane PITCHER (b. 15 May 1854), and William PITCHER (b. 28 Jul 1861). Are any of these names familiar to you? We will keep an eye out for your names as we do our research--maybe we will tie into your line. We'll stay in touch. Thanks again for replying.

Sharon: Your Loren Edwin Pitcher was the son of Truman D. Pitcher and Betsy Jones of Litchfield Co., CT. They married November 12, 1788; Truman probably died in Oswego Co., NY after 1840. Truman's parents were James Pitcher and Elizabeth Mary Durgn and it is guessed that Truman's middle name may be Durgn. Betsy was born August 14, 1771 and I do not know her parents. Truman and Betsy had a large family including:
1) WEALTHY PITCHER - Born April 5, 1789 in CT.
2) SALLY PITCHER - Born May 24, 1790 in CT.
3) THEBA "PHILO" PITCHER - Born February 14, 1792 in CT.
4) BETSY PITCHER - Born October 3, 1793 in CT.
5) HARMON JONES PITCHER - Born September 3, 1795 in CT; married Betsy Ann M_____ on June 13, 1825; died March 6, 1853 in NY. Line of Glenda Thacker at gpthacker@aol.com.
6) NATHANIEL PITCHER - Born February 3, 1798.
7) HORACE TRUMAN PITCHER - Born March 15, 1799; married Margaret Kann; m/2 Margaret VanCamp (same person?.

Surnames: Waterman, Pitcher, Maher
Hello Bill,

I have a Orrin Pitcher in my family tree who was born 1785 in Massachusetts. His children are Anny M, born 1811 in NY, William G. born 1828 in NY, Orrin O. born 1828 in NY and Hannah H. born December 2, 1836 in NY. The above information was obtained from the 1850 census for Naperville, DuPage County, Illinois Census.Hannah Pitcher is my 2nd great grandmother. The Pitchers are descendants of Lady Sybil Pitcher of England. This last bit of info I obtained from the biography of Hannibal Waterman who was Hannah Pitcher's husband. At this time I do not know the parents of Orrin Sr. Please contact me at susangre@pacbell.net

I saw your post and I realize it was a long time ago, I am hoping you are still on here. I am trying to find my 3rd g.grandfather, his name was Horace Pitcher and he was born around the same time as your Horace. You have him listed as having 2 marriages, and the second you seam not sure of? My Horace married a Phoebe Burnett in NJ. He listed in the Ogden Family book, along with their children. But I can't find him past that point, they settled in Schoharie County, NY. I was wondering if Phoebe could have been your Horace's second wife? Or if you know of any cousins that may have been named Horace also? Any info you may have would really be appreciated.
Thanks
