In case anyone is reading this still..I have tracked down alot of info regarding our common surnames...in case you are interested. My Familys current name is Pasenelli, which evolved from Pisaniello.
My Fathers GreatGrand Parents "Paternal"came from San Martino Italy ,on the Spartan Prince in 1902.They were Antonio Pisaniello and Madellana Yollo. On Board with them were Daughter Anna,SonsJohn(and Teresa),and Constantino). Here it gets tricky..John and Teresa Had children Sons John Pisanelli, and Frank(not clear if he used Pisaniello or Pisanelli),but Frank was Killed On Gaudalcanal in WWII.,Robert, and Grace.Thats as Far as I can get on that side..hmm So,Back to Contantino, stay with me. He was born in 1875(D.1953),so he was already 27 when he arrived @ ellis island. He Married Maria Donata Martone.Marias Parents were Joseph & Anntoinette(no last) Martone.(they also had Theresa, josephine and Frank)As for Maria,I scoured Ellis Island to try to match Names and Arrivals but found nothing.I do Know Maria was born in 1880,died in 1954.So,
Constanino and Maria had Edward Paenelli,(my GrandFather)Joseph,Arthur Pasenelli,Lena ,Vera,Dorothy, and Joesephine.(if you e-mail me i can give you last names.) as for myself,my Fathers Father Edward(1907-1954) and his wife Alma(Fritz) had Edward jr.,Robert, and My Father John Martin Pasenelli(notice the oddity of everyone using a different version of the Pisaniello, pisanelli and Pasenelli Surname?) thanx for the time -Thomas Pasenelli(PS.my father died in 1985)

I know this message is several years old, but I thought I would try anyway. My great great grandmother was Anna Pisanelli Soldi who immigrated from San Martino, Italy in 1902. I'm wondering if this is the same Anna although I'm a little confused because she should have been married to Joseph/Jose Soldi (Americanized name--not sure of original Italian name) by the time she came. I don't know a lot about the family because my grandfather was adopted and these are his paternal biological grandparents. I know they eventually ended up in Bridgeport, CT.

This is great information! I am your cousin, Thomas. In my research Constantino also went by Daniel Pisanelle and Maria Donata Martone as Nettie. Perhaps Constantino's middle name was Daniel?
My grandfather, Joseph, was your Dads' brother. He married Ruth Loretta Sharron. His children are Madeline, Diana, Joseph Michael, and Daniel, Joseph Angelo, your uncle, died very young. I am told he contracted strep throat that developed into pneumonia - which he died from while in his twenties. My grandmother Ruth was twenty one when Joseph died. She had four children the youngest being only several weeks old. My Aunt Diana and Uncle Dan have passed. My dad, Joseph, is 79 and his oldest sister, Madeline is in her 80's. If you should find our lineage any further back in Italy, please post on this board or you can email me directly at pstarland@yahoo.com.

Thank you.
