Re: Piranio family from Corleone Sicily
My name is Evan Ferrante. My grandmother on my father's side is a Piranio from Corleone, Sicily. I plan on making a trip there at some point in the near future, but I'm very detached from my ancestry( third generation if not more). In fact, this is the first time I have ever made contact with someone from my family. Anyway, if you can reply and shed some light on whereabouts of our relatives or anything else that might be of interest., it would be most appreciated.

Re: Piranio family from Corleone Sicily
HI.....there are a few Piranio families in Corleone that claim not to be related. But I'm sure that somewhere down the road they were all related. Do you have any info at all to start you search. First names or anything. Let me know. My family is all still there. Thanks waiting to hear from you ...Enza

My great-grandfather, Leoluca Piranio, and great-grandmother, Rosalia (Scoma) Piranio, both came from Corleone, Sicilia and they lived in Patterson, Louisiana. Any relationship to your family?

Re: Piranio family from Corleone Sicily
My great-grandfather came from Corleone around the turn of the century (1900) via New Orleans and settled in Patterson, Louisiana. His name was Leoluca Piranio and his wife's name was Rosalia (Scoma) Piranio. They had several children, one was my grandmother (Vincenza "Jenny" Piranio-Governale- Alberes). Please find out if the Piranio's you have contact with in Corleone are related or knows anything about the above Piranio family.

Re: Piranio family from Corleone Sicily
Hi Michael,
My family (Ridulfo & DiCarlo) is from Corleone, and I have done some extensive research of the genealogical records from Corleone. I have a Leoluca Piranio way back in my tree (married Antonia Ridulfo abt 1850). I also know a Biagia Piranio who married Salvatore Ridulfo in the 1920's. I am in e-mail contact with her grandson, Mario Ridulfo who lives in Palermo. Do you have family tree info back that far ? Where are you located ?
Regards,
Gary

Re: Piranio family from Corleone Sicily
Hi I just received you message.....very interesting. My whole family is still there all the Piranios' and we are even related to other Piranios' through a family marriage. What is your Nonna's name? My direct Piranio family are also know as the Evangelista due to their religious beliefs. The other Piranios are my Uncles wifes family. His father-in-law's name is Salvatore. Are you familiar with any of these names? Thanks Enza

Re: Piranio family from Corleone Sicily
Hi, I'm a "me too-er" I live in San Diego, California. I didn't realize there were so many Piranios. I travel extensively, check phone direcoties, but have seldom found others with the same spelling of our name. My grand parents and their family (including my dad Pete) were from Porto Cielo (not sure or the spelling.) Sicily. Anywhere near Corleone? Any others? My grandparents were Salvatore and Anna Piranio. I know there are other relatives here in San Diego, and some spell their name Piraino.??? Is the Piranio name that common in Sicily? Please respond--any.
