Piquard name

My surname is a Dutch corruption of Piquard, pronounced more or less the same way, and my family moved to Northern Ireland from The Netherlands in the 1920s.

The story is that Piquards (Huguenots) fled France after the Revocation of the Edict of Nantes in 1685 and changed their name to a more Dutch-looking one.

Many thanks for the site!

I saw the message from David Piekaar, dated 6 Feb 2002 and I would like to know what the name of his father was. Perhaps my mother is a relative of him and she would like to contact her Irish family.

Thanks in advance!

William is pictured in Roger-Out, yearbook of the 44-C class Pecos Army Air Field in Pecos, Texas. He is a flight cadet. I'm not kin but thought this might help someone researching the PIEKAAR family.
