Isadore Piquard is my husband's ggrandfather. I have just started working on that line of our tree. My mother-in-law is a Piquard and has lots of info up to Isidore and Mary, but very little prior. What exactly are you looking for? Reply with your email and let's compare notes.

Sounds like we are all in the same family.
We have copies of two of Isidore Piquard's
douments from France. One is a letter
settling a land claim and the other is part
of his immigration papers. However, they
are very poor quality copies. Do either of
you know who has the originals?

My great-grandmother on my mother's side was Marie Florence Piquard. She was married to Jean Baptista Joseph Chauvaux. They lived in Birtrix,Luxemborg(Belgium). Do you have any information on her or could she be from another line ? Please contact me at my e-mail address.
Thank you in advance.

Our Piquard line is from the Department of Haute Saone in the French Comte region of France. I have recently learned that the spelling of the Piquard name with a "qu" instead of a "c" is a confirming clue to their origin as it appears unique to this region of France.

I know this doesn't help you much, but the French Comte region is not too far from Belgium, though I think it is closer to Switzrland. Perhaps there is some sort of connection between the Piquard's in Frnace and the Piquard's in Belgium. Do you know if the Piquard's in Belgium always use the "qu"?

Thank you for your reply. All I really know is that was the way my great-grandmother spelled her maiden name. I don't know if my great-grandfather met her in France, or if she was actually from Belgium.

I would love to talk and compare information. I'm sure Fritz would also. I have a Charles L. in my records as the great-grandson of Isidore and Mary Piquard. Is this perhaps you? My direct email is RenaeBC@att.net.
