Are there any of my relatives out there? My mother is Margaret Pipesh (Harwood). Her parents were Joseph and Catherine(Sis) Pipesh?

Hi Peggy,
Yes I am interested in the Pipesh line still. I had some contact with Frank Pipesh not long ago. But after I sent him some pictures he asked for I haven't heard any more. George and Winefred(Winnie) are my Mom's Uncle and Aunt. My Mother s Margaret Harwood (Pipesh) Her Dad was Joe Pipesh.I'll write you again soon if there is anything that I can tell you let me know. Where are you living now? My mom said that she thought you were in Fl.?!

Lots of questions to answer. I live with Ed Pipesh, son of Roy pipesh, who is the son of George, son of Joseph. Your grandpa Joseph is George's brother. I have Joseph Pipesh, Married to Margaret Louise Genaw but that's where we get lost. We live in Whittemore, MI. Chris Pipesh, Son of Joseph, son of George is also working on the family line. He tells me that Uncle Frank has the family bible that details everything including illness, birth, marriage and death dates AND the original family name. This is what we need to go any further. I plan on sending for birth and death certificates to try to get more information. I'm sure you have run into a dead end with the Pipesh family name. It was originally something else. We just don't have access to the Bible. Chris sent him a letter asking him if he could copy the information in the bible but received no response. Chris thinks some bad feeling exist somewhere. He doesn't live far from Frank and would go over to copy it. We are going to go and talk to Ed's parents & Aunt Lill this weekend to see if we can dig up anything else. I think he is the missing link here. I'm excited that you corresponded with him. Maybe that means he might be willing to help us. Could you contact him again, or give me his info so I can contact him? Where do you live? My e-mail address is pipesh@centurytel.net.

Hope to talk to you soon.

I may be able to help with your Pipesh line. I think they are a collateral line for my Ptacek (aka Tesick) family in Detroit. I have Mary Ptacek, who married Albert Papesh in the 1880 census, son Joseph, b. abt. 1873.

I believe I have found this Joseph in 1920 & 1930, married to Margaret, at least 10 children, among them Joseph, b. abt. 1906, George, b. abt. 1908, and Frank, b. abt. 1925. In 1920, they are living on Ash St., and Joseph Sr. is a truck driver. In 1930, they are living on 17th St. in Detroit, and Joseph Sr. is a salesman for an ice cream factory.

I would be very interested in contacting Frank Pipesh, if he has the family Bible. Perhaps you can help me with that. I, too, live in the Detroit area (Rochester Hills).

Feel free to contact me.

Sounds like you are right. It's so strange. I just got an e-mail from cousin Patty who discovered Joseph Papesh age 7 in 1873. How great!!!

We don't know if Frank has the family Bible. We are trying to get that information.

Joseph Born 1873 had Clayton, Joseph, George, Albert, Susan, Lillian, Frank, Margaret and Agnes.

George is our grandfather.
Joseph is Patty Rahn's grandfather.

Aunt Lil (Lillian) is still alive and lives in the same town we do. I need to get over to visit her and get more details.

e-mail me back and I will forward you a spreadsheet that we have compiled so far.

Great chatting with you.

Susan,
Glad to have some more help on our Pipesh-Papesh family. I too have been running into the spelling change. I have been working some but kept running into road blocks and so I would stop for awhile. I had posted a message in 2000 and just this past year heard from Peggy. We got to meet for the first time this summer along with some more of the Pipesh family that I never knew. So Peggy and I along with another cousin that I haven't met have been working together and shareing information. Hope that your search at the Church comes up with some proof for you. GOOD LUCK
Talk to you some more later I am going to send for some birth records I'll let you know what I turn up.

Hi ,
My name is Margaret McGarey (nee Margaret A Rhodes)
My Mom was Georges (Uncle Toot to us when we were kids)
Susan Elizabeth Pipesh. I too am looking for any info I can get on Grandma Arthur and Grandpa Pipesh (of which I know very little) I know that Grandma was married to I believe Scott Arthur (as we called him Grandpa Scotty) So i'm making a leaf when saying his name was scott. I'm sure Aunt Lil will remember. Do you have Uncle Franks phone number, Last time I saw him was at Grandma Arthurs funeral. If you find out any more information you can email me at MMccall474@aol.com and I'll send pass along anything I can find.
