I am interested in finding out info about Benjamin Piper, b. 11/23/1739 Westmorland, VA, d 1/11/1802 Green CO Kentucky. He married Winifred Ashby on 12/9/1767. I found on the net that he was in the Revolutionary War. Can anyone give me any details and proof? I can share info on him. Thank you very much. His parents are John Piper and Mary Marshall. If you have info on them, I would love it.

Surnames: Piper, Johnston, Johnson, Bloyd
Hi Bernice, Did this Benjamin Piper have a son Benjamin who married Lucretia Johnson/Johnston in 1828 in Tazewell County Illinois? I ask because Lucretia's brother John married Nancy Bloyd in Sangamon Co. (now Tazewell County, Mackinaw Township) in 1825. Nancy was from a large group of families to came to Illinois from Green Co. Kentucky in the late 1820s. What do you think? Patty B

Surnames: Piper, Pepper, Preece, Peppers
Hello, I am trying to find out more info. on Benjamin Piper. I found a listing for him on One Tree World. When it listed his children, one of them was Daniel Piper married to Polly Pruit Preece. Although some of the info. is different from what we (family) have, the rest of it lines up. Our family name is Pepper. Daniel was married to (Mary) Polly Pruit Preece. They lived in Green County, Ky. They had two sons, Samuel and William. I tried contacting the people on the One Tree World site, but it goes through some kind of a middle man company and have not heard back from any of them. We are really anxious to find out if indeed these two families are related and the name just got spelled different somewhere along the lines. We do know that of our Pepper relatives, one family got an "S" added to their last name during the Civil War pension filing. Two brothers, by filing, had there family name changed. Our branch is still Pepper as seen in all the census records, the other line ended up Peppers! Anyway, would love to find out more about Benjamin. We have only been able to trace the family as far back as Daniel and Mary. The original email address for me listed on this, is no longer our server. Please send any reply to: gpepper10-2-4@adelphai.net. Will look forward to hearing from you. Till then, Gail Pepper

It is April 2015, 10 years after this original post. Have been in touch with people that have researched and there seems to be more evidence leaning toward the Pepper name being Piper initially. I am still looking into this. Also participating in both Pepper and Piper DNA projects. My new email address is: gpepper1024@gmail.com. If anyone responds to this new post, you can contact me at this latest email address. The older email addresses are no longer in existence.
Always in search of documented proof of the families!!
