Looking for home for found original picture of subject. Second child and oldest daughter of Benjamin Bixby and Hannah W. Pingree, Massachusetts. Children of Benjamin and Hannah were: Benjamin W. (Civil War: Died of disease Oct 1862 in Virginia only 1-1/2 months after enlisting as a Teamster with the Massachusetts 32nd Infantry Regiment: filed for and received Mother's Pension); Harriett (subject) married John S. (or F.) Wright and had children Mary (or May) W., John B. and Charles L. Wright; Hannah J., Charles M., and Daniel S. Pingree.
Hand written on six lines (lf) in pencil on back of oval picture frame was: "My Grandmother (lf) whom I was named after (lf) Harriett Brickett Pingree (lf) Taken when (lf) 23 years old (lf) Jan 1866".
This picture was found in a home in Kalamazoo Michigan purchased in about 1975-1977 following the death of the occupant. The picture (attached) and frame was cared for by my mother-in-law for years then passed on to my wife when she downsized and moved to Arizona in her later years. We looked at the picture the other day and decided to try and find a direct descendant who would value the original picture for it's familial historical value. I have included a 100% scan of the origonal image for all other interested parties use in their family history search.
The only source information can provide on the image is, according to the 1860 Census the family was living in Maccashusetts and the inscription on the back. I believe the image may have been taken around the time Harriett was engaged. If the inscription is correct, this would place it about the same time.
