I am not sure but I suspect all Janveau to be descendants of Jean Viau. I am from a Viau dit Janveau from Montreal, Quebec. Is it the first Jean Viau who came from France or is it one of the many sons of the other Viaus, lesperance and so on...There were many first french named Viau. Hope it helps you.
