Have read all msgs on here and therefore believe our Piland line to go back from TX to MO to KY to NC. Would love to hear from anyone with any information or verifications on family. I may be able to help fill in parts you don't have yet. Email me please or post here.

I have a Joseph John Piland born 1871 s/o Samuel E. Piland but nothing on his descendants at this time. He was most likely born in Missouri since his just older and next younger siblings were born there. He is a guncle to my husband. I also find a Nancy G. Piland buried in Piland Cemetery, Ozark Co, Missouri born 1828, died 1881---tombstone says wife of J J Piland. There is also a Joseph S. Piland buried there. Email me if you want.

I am related through Noah Nicholas Piland he married my
grandfathers' grandfather's sister, Jane Maritt in Ozark, MO
The connection to North Carolina is very interesting, I don't know anything about the Maritts beyond Janes grandfather Samuel Maritt who was born about 1765 and died 1827 in Marion, Tennessee, there are alot of Maritts in North Carolina and I am hoping to find a connection, maybe the Piland and Maritt families had some connections before coming together in Missouri.

It is possible that the Pilands and the Merrits could have known each other in North Carolina. Am interested in what you have that would connect them there.

I am a descendant of Mills Piland b.c. 1795 in Eastern North Carolina (probably Perquimans Co.) married Penninah (Penelope) Harrell 26 March 1819 in Gates Co. and migrated through Tennessee to Red River Co., TX where he got a land grant in 1839.
The Gates Co. list of marriages from 1779 to 1850 shows 13 male Pilands with the names of their mates and date of marriage.
The 1830 Gates Co. census lists Mills Piland's family

I am Jerry Spencer of Grapevine, TX
