I have some copies of some documents that name John Pyke, Woodinstown, CO, Tipperary Ireland, from June 6, 1713. If anyone is interested. Im not sure what they are other than his name in a will and some sort of land records.

I would be interested in receiving a copy of the documents that you mention.

Incidentally, I have transcribed a copy of John's will and put it online at

Hi,

John Pyke was an ancestor of mine. He was given the land in Woodinstown by Cromwell for his services. Unfortunately King Billy took it back.

I would be very interested in a copy anything you have on him.

Regards,

Dan

Hi Daniel

Im just wondering do you know if John Pike Woodinstown(New Inn)is connected to John Pyke Clonmel d 12 Jan 1908. I think this John (who I am a decendant of) originally came from Cahir. (His children were John, George and Joanne/Johanna all lived in Clonmel)

Any light you could shine on this would be appreciated.

Thanks

Keith

Keith -- currently working on the Pyke's of Clonmel -- I do have a George married to Mary O'Brien - 11 children -- he died 1938, born c1859. John married Bridget Divan - 13 children - John died 1927 born 1850. There is also a reference to a Johanna who married in Clonmel, probably St. Patrick's in 1869 == the name Johanna appears in successive generations.
Re John who died in 1908 -- where was he from - Clonmel or nearby ?
Many Thanks
David

Hi David
I'm still researching the Pykes of Clonmel. My research for the Pykes goes back to 1824 having trouble finding anything before that. George born Jan 1858 is my GG grand father and John born May 1849 (is Georges brother). Yes I have a Johanna how married a Patrick Gallavan Oct 1869 in St. Marys.

Re John how died Jan 1908 is my GGG grand father the father of George and John above.

You have a little more information on Georges and Johns children I would be delighted if you could pass it on to me. If you want any more information on the above email me.
