Hi, My family left Germany after the war, my grandfather was stanislaw pijanka, grandmother Wladyslawa they arrived in australia 1950 and settled in QLD - they had 5 Children - Wladyslaw Stanislaw (my father) the eldest, Jan, Ryszaed (deceased 1953 - 2 months) Daniela and the youngest Joe (I think - not sure of his birth date or name, but believe it to be 1955). If any of the male persons listed above are the name of your father, then we are possibly related. My parents divorce soon after I was born, but I have made contact again with my father and currently tracking family relatives down. But according to my research there was only one family with the surname of Pijanka who came out after the war to Australia, and it is not an overly common name. So if I can help you out let me know, I have a large amount of information on this group of Pijanka's

Hi,
If you are interested, I will send you the photo's I have, which aren't many, but I do have the passport photo's of our Grandfather and grandmother. I also have obtained copies of the immigration information and burial location of our grandparents. My parents also split when I was young, but I have met up with my father (Stan) again and get along well with him. He may know the birth date of your father. Joe was born in 1955, I know this as our Grandmother was pregnant with him when our grandfather died in Nov 1954. I have a lot of stories etc of the family, as was told to me as a child and items I have found in the last couple of years. The Pijanka story is not a happy one, with all the children becoming wards of the state shortly after the death of our grandfather. If you would like to know more let me know, as I am trying to put together all family history for both my mother and fathers side, as both immigrated to australia in the 1950 - you should find my email address on the rhs of the thread page, under page tools - if you click board information it should display it there, so if you would like to know more let me know.To my knowledge I am the oldest child from the pijanka clan, born NSW 1965. Regards Anne-Marie (prefer Anne)
