Timothy Haller: It is noted that you are updating Dr. R. Pigford's book authored in the 1960's which starts with "Lost Billie". On page 35 of Dr. Pigford's book he mentions he had come across another branch which he called "late arrivals". I am a decendent of those late arrivals and worked with Dr. Pigford to try and tie the two lines together but accomplished very little and in the meantime Dr. Pigford died.
When you do your updating would you work with those of us who are decendents of the late arrivals to include them in your book? We have made some progress in our research and with what I can supply and perhaps what the Collinsville, Il. Pigfords can contribute plus any contributions from those who read these posts we can add to your update.
I have posted much of my background in a new post on theQuery Board which I entitled Pigford Dorman Robinson because I need information about some of the Dormans and Robinsons in Cherokee County, Kansas to connect some of the dots.
Please refer to the post mentioned above for this information or if you need it repeated on a different board let me know.

Doris Buhr: Regarding the statue in Collinsville, Il. of Matthew Pigford - this is a statue of the brother of my grandfather John Pigford who came to the USA with Matthew in 1888 destined for Kansas (Weir City). Matthew was born in 1868 in Co. Durham buried in Collinsville, Il in 1931. His first wife EmmaTaylor died (1887) and he married Jane (Mason) Clasper in 1891.My grandfather settled in Sparta, Il.and is buried here. For the background of Matthew and my grandfather please refer to the Query Board where I have recently posted under Pigford Dorman Robinson the ancestory of our family with the request that the new Pigford Book include we who Dr. Pigford called "late arrivals". I have made this request to Timothy Haller in a post made today. Perhaps in time we might be able to connect our Pigford line with that of "Lost Billie". I would appreciate any suggestions and advice that you might have to help us in this pursuit. Thank you.

I am looking for Dr. Scott Pigford and his brother's family (nieces Maybelle and Alice) who lived in Duplin County. I believe my grandmother was a servant in their home. Supposedly, Dr. Pigford attended her mother who died when Nellie Cola or Mely Coly was very young. Any help would be appreciated. Nellie later was married in Wilmington in 1889.
