I am looking for info on the family of Sophia Pigeon (married to Antone Dantinne); her dad was suppose to be Zeno Pigeon and his father could possibly be Peter Pigeon. They lived in Brown county. Your Peter could be a descendant of this Peter. Any info would be greatly appreciated

According to the marriage certificate of Peter Joseph Pigeon & Anna Agnes Simons, Peter's parents were Zeno Pigeon and Virginia Vukman. Since I am researching the Simons line, I really don't know any more about the Pigeons. I do have information on Peter & Anna's children, etc. if you need it. E-mail me if you are interested.

I also have a great deal of information on the Pigeon family.

You are correct that Peter was the son of Zeno (Zenon) Pigeon, who was married to Marie Josephe Virginie (Virginia) Veckman (or sometimes spelled Vickman or even Wickman). Peter and Agnes' grave is located in Allouez Cemetery - I have a photo of it if you'd like.

Zeno was the son of Pierre (Peter) Pigeon who was the original Pigeon to emigrate from Belgium (near Archennes and Grez Doiceau in the Brabant Wallon Province). Pierre was married to Anne-Marie Martin (who was also from near Grez Doiceau). I have a PDF copy of the deed to the land Pierre purchased in the Town of Humboldt, which was purchased in 1858. I also have a copy of Anne-Marie's gravestone (as well as Zeno's), which are both located in the St. Killian Cemetery in Scott Township, Brown County, Wisconsin.

Pierre was the son of Andre Pigeon and Antoinette Flemal. Both died and were buried in Belgium, presumably in the Archennes area. I was in Belgium in 2004 and had an opportunity to quickly look for their graves, but was unable to find them.

Andre is the son of Francois Pigeon and Marie-Anne Lurquin. Again, they are presumably buried in the Archennes/Grez Doiceau area of the Brabant Wallon province in Belgium.

I can provide more information if anyone is interested. Just let me know.

Joe

I am seeking the firstname of the Mr. Pigeon who married Tilly (Matilda) Kayser in Brown County, WI probably about 1903 or 1904. Their daughter Beata was born 1906.

I have much on her family including a photo taken in 1922.

I don't show any male Pigeon's married to a Matilda Kayser in my tree, but it could be any number of males for which I don't have complete information. From my research, the Pigeon's in the Green Bay, Wisconsin area all originated from Pierre Joseph Pigeon, Sr. (1809-1870) and Anne-Marie Martin (1810-1892). They had the following children:

Zenon (my branch)
Jeanne Josephe Sidonie
Henrietta
Adele
Desire Jean Baptiste
Pierre Joseph Pigeon, Jr.
Marie Rosalie

My guess is that your Pigeon is buried somewhere in the descendants of either Desire Jean Baptiste or Pierre Joseph Jr. If you can find any other clues for me, I will dig some more.

Thank you for your kind reply. I would assume it might have been Pierre since he was the only son who possibly could have married Matilda. However, I will continue searching to try to prove that it was him, not someone else.

I believe Pierre was referred to as Peter as was common. You may want to search under Peter Pigeon.

I believe I found it. When I did a search on Matilda Pigeon on ancestry.com, I found her listed in a Milwaukee City Directory as the widow of Frank. Try to go to this link - http://search.ancestry.com/iexec?htx=View&dbid=1540&...; Fox Point; River Hills; St Francis; Shorewood; West Milwaukee; Whitefish Bay%26_81004041=1940&rc=1195,2097,1270,2117;1283,2097,1368,2116;1225,2555,1327,2572;1889,2335,1979,2355;2726,2722,2849,2738;4099,1699,4219,1718;2883,3494,3122,3523&pid=7519992&ssrc=&fn=Matilda&ln=Pigeon&st=g.

Not sure if Frank came from the Green Bay area or not.

A sincere thanks. I knew they started out in Green Bay and then to Milwaukee but wasn't sure of the time of transition.
