Thank you for the information. My husband and I looked up the death records for the 1800 and the spelling of Pigatt, Piggott, Pigot, and Pigate were all listed for the same people. Seems as if no one really knew the really spelling. Most of the people were from South Caroline and that is were my husband (Pigatt) family is from.

Thank you

And I am one of the Pigates that have been DNA tested, unfortunately confused the flow of Lynches River. Just wondering if anyone can offer any information on a Dublin Pigate/Pigatt and his family? Was he known by another name?

Hi,

The Pigatt line follows from Dublin Pigatt born in 1826 in South Carolina. I am doing the research and I just ordered a kit to have my father tested to see if we are related to the Pigotts/Piggott/Pigot/Picot/Pigate family lines. Looking forward to the results either way we already have in some cases as much as 8 generations back.

Hello, my name is Joey. Ive just started my ancestry search within the last month or so. Ive been researching the Spivy/Spivey side of the family. My great great grandmother and father were Rebecca Pigatt & Joe Spivy, ive been trying to search her side of the family to add into my notes. but wasent able to find much until just out of tiredness I started looking at the picture posts and suddenly... there are Pigatts everywhere. Please contact me via email, I have questions and maybe I can help you with some questions too. Im looking for pics, stories the whole thing. I never knew that I had such a large family and such a rich history. maryb1234@live.com.

I think we are related to those lines with the varied spelling, due to the way that names were recorded in the middle ages.
