Nothing immediate, but I presume this is in England. There should be marriage and death records which would lead to birth records, not to mention census returns. For example, assuming Piers was spelt correctly in 1881, there were two, possible fathers in the British census of that year. One was Henry Piers b. ca. 1873, s/o John (ca. 1857.) They lived at 5A Little Park Place, Newington, Surrey, England. Most of the family was born at Walworth Surrey, although a couple of the younger children were b. at Leeds, Yorkshire. John was a bottler of ginger beer. He is indicated as married, but his wife is not present.

Living at 43 Claveden, Birkenhead, Cheshire, England in 1881 with a Rylance family was Henry Piers b. Brimstage Cheshire ca. 1862, a shopman unmarried at the time.

Again using exact spelling, in 1901 there were three Henry Piers. The only one likely to be connected to engineering was Maj. Henry O. Piers of the Royal Artillery b. Plymouth, Devonshire ca. 1856.

In Canada, in 1891, in Halifax, Halifax Co., Nova Scotia was a Henry Piers b. NS ca. 1825, with a son, Harry (b. ca. 1870), and assistant librarian. Henry. Sr. was b. Nova Scotia, as was his father, but his mother was b. England. By 1901, Harry (b. 15FEB1869) is married, but has no children. Harry was actually born 12FEB1870 (census returns are unreliable), the s/o Henry and Janet (Harrington) Piers. Harry's father is also given as Temple Foster Piers, although his death record gives him as Henry as does Harry's birth record and the 1891 and 1901 censuses. None of these seem connected to England, except Henry, Sr.'s mother. Henry was a Sandemanian, a Protestant denomination said to have died out by 1890; so he was likely one of the last. He was likely one of those distrusted by the Patriots in New England in the American Revolution for their non-violence stance and forced to flee to Nova Scotia.

There is, in Halifax in 1901, a Henery? Piers b. 20APR1894, s/o W. D. (7APR1860) and Annie (18SEP1865) Piers. W. D. is a reporter.
