Looking for further information on Benjamin E. Pier born Feb 1884, probably Clarke Co., Virginia - one of many children of Perry & Mary Griffith Pier.

I believe that this is the same Benjamin E. Pier that married Anna Mae Gordon Williams in Tombstone, Cochise Co., Arizona 25 Jul 1927. They had one child, Jacqueline Lavonne Pier b 5 Jul 1928 in Los Angeles, CA. Benjamin died 14 Aug 1932 in Tucson, Pima, Arizona. I have copy of death record that shows his parents as Perry Washington Pier and Mary E. Griffith.

The marriage record and death record both have the name of "Benjamin E. Pier" however, he went by the name of John "Jack" Rufus Pier." Why? His occupation was truck driver.

I believe that he may have had another family in Washington DC. On the 1930 Washington DC census, Washington City, ED129, there is Benjamin E. Pier, age 44, born Virginia.
Since his parents and siblings were also in Washington DC, I believe that this is the same person as married Anna Mae Gordon Williams. He and Anna are listed on the 1930 California, Los Angeles, LA, census with daughter, Jacqueline and stepchildren.
