Helen L. Andrews Pier, 87 of Greenville Pa. and formerly of Lake City, died Monday March 17, 2008 at Whitecliff Nursing Home in Greenville. She was born May 10, 1920 in Girard, a daughter of the late Raymond and Louise Sedler Andrews. Helen had been a homemaker and was also employed at the Girard Pharmacy, McCarty's in Lake City and the Ration Board during WW 1 and had been a life member of the Girard Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Bernard Pier; two brothers, Scott Andrews and Raymond Andrews; and her sister Merna Marett. She is survived by two sons, Larry Pier and his wife Linda of Greenville, Pennsylvani,and Richard Pier of Cocoa, Florida; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Services were held privately by the family. Burial was held in the Girard Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Daniel R. Edder Funeral Home, Girard.
