Hi Karen. I, too, descend from Arent Teunis Pier (1670) and his brother, Jan Pier (1681).
In my pedigree, the grandaughter of Jan Pier (1631) married the son of Arent Teunis Pier (1637).
This marriage produced many children, two of which were sisters Maria Pier (1711) and Jannetjen Pier , who became the grandmothers of Alexander Ostrander.(1783).

In your research of the Pier line have you ever found that the daughter of Arent Teunis Pier married Peter Winne, and there is a line of descent to Teddy Roosevelt through Rebecca Yates and Maria Van Schack?
