I am just about to start looking at my family tree. I keep seeing info about William Piears, but have no idea as yet whether I am related.
My father's name is Anthony Michael Piears, son of Ethel and Frank Piears. Frank Piears was born in 1903 at 1 Paradise Walk in Chelsea. Anthony has three brothers, Donald, Derek and Alan. If anyone has any information about Frank Piears it would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you. Kim.

Hi Kim,
There seem to be plenty of people researching the Piears out there who could probably tell you more than I can. But as nobody else has replied to you yet I thought I'd tell you the little that I know.
William Piears is my 5xggrandfather. From what I can tell William's children were born in Chelsea and christened at St Luke's. My bit of the family lived in Islington.
In the 1871 census there is a Piears family living at 31 Paradise Walk. They are Harry 45, Mary A. 45, Thomas 12, and Frederick 10. They must be related to Frank.
On the FreeBMD site there is a Francis George b Dec 1904 Chelsea 1a 402. There are also Frederick b 1861, Sarah Ann b 1864 and James Francis J. b 1902, all born in Chelsea and on FreeBMD. There are certainly lots of Piears born in the 2nd half of the 19th century in London.
I found that it pays to look at alternative spellings of the surname as well. I think a lot of people, myself included, presumed Piears was a mis-spelling of Piers/Pearse/Pierce. Hope this helps.

Hi Jill. Many thanks for posting your reply to Kim's message. I've tried several times replying direct to Kim but no response however she may well be looking here for a reply. I quite sure I can answer your question and will do very shortly. Best Wishes - Dave.

I know that Francis and Ethel Piears lived at 43 Verona St Battersea. Francis lived there from 1945 -1960 and Ethel lived there from 1945 -1967. Anthony and Donald lived there for a while but not sure how long they lived there.

I am David Harris, great grandson of Frederick Augustus Piears (born London 1848). Any information please on FREDERICK PIEARS born c.1730? He was the father of the William Piears, born c.1765 in USA, referred to in David Piears Hayes message posted in 2002.

David I think we may have already made contact - are you Sue's brother. I sent you some piears photos.

Hello all, I wondered whether anyone has pointers on source documentation for William Piears 1765 - I have copies of his discharge papers from the Nat Archives but am drawing a blank on any further source material.
I'm particularly intrigued by David Harris' mention of William's father - David, if you see this message I'm interested to know where you came across Frederick Piears B1730.
My line, for info, is William & Ann --> Edward H & Mary A (Meadows) --> Frank & Jane (Howlett) --> James & Nell (Pratt) --> Francis & Ethel --> Don & Maureen.
I'm still merrily trying to gather vital record & other document copies as & when & just about to make a first visit to the local LDS Family History Centre for parish registers etc.
I'm also having a lot of difficulty tracing death details for James Piears B1882 (NOT James R Piears, son of Fred'k & Clara C) so any info there would also be gratefully received.
Regards all, Mat.

Hi Mat,
James Piears d. June 1927 Chelsea 1a 372 aged 46.
Sound like him?
Wish I could help you with Frederick, father of William. All I know is what I've picked up from messages left by David on various boards - father was Frederick, brother Joseph. If you ever find the source I'd love to know.
