Pidds of Crowle, North Lincolnshire
I have visited this site for the first time & am intrigued by talk of an Italian connection which we have as a result of my father setting up a life long friendship with a Florentine family during the second world war. I assume however, your references are another branch from another Crowle somewhere if that combination is possible, as I have no knowledge of the names you refer to. My family history goes back 500 years in this village, if this is of any use to any of you. Crowle, Scunthorpe, North Lincolnshire, England Kind regards

Re: Pidds of Crowle, North Lincolnshire
It's the same Crowle as far as I know. As I said it was a friends family and we didn't search very deeply. She does come from Lincolnshire. I don't have the details with me now but Keziah etc were in Crowle in the 1800's.
The one name nobody else has mentioned is Garry/Gary (actually Garibaldi Pidd). I have no idea where he fits into it all.
I'm passing on all your details to my friend, I gave her some information about a Pidd connection to Sicily the other day, hopefully she'll get in touch with you all.

Ralph,
Thankyou for replying. A local history teacher traced my ancestors back & set up a family tree. I will search it out & check to see if there is a Gary Pidd.
Kind regards

Re: Pidds of Crowle, North Lincolnshire
Hi All
I am the person Ralph was talking about when he was talking about his friend and it is me that is connected to The Pidds, My great grandmother was Keziah Pidd and Linton as far as I can make out after talking with my mum was her brother, my grandfather was one of Keziah's sons Marcus Lorenzo Albert Graves (There's the italian connection again) and it may intrest you to know that my mum is presently living the the house that Keziah moved into in scunthorpe when she lived there with Albert her husband.
I also remember having a great uncle Orlando who used to live with Keziah in his later years. Does this name ring any bells.
Tracey - You said that Keziah was your Great-grandma as well can I ask who is your mum? ( if you don't want to tell me on here please email me, we may be close family)!
Everyone - Raplh told you I had a document which connected the pidds to Italy, I'm not saying it is a family member but it shows there were pidds in italy if any one wants a copy of this then just email me and I will send it.
Hope to hear from you all soon

Re: Pidds of Crowle, North Lincolnshire
Hi Michala,
I must say I was delighted to see your posting on the Rootsweb Pidd message board. I was intrigued to know who Ralph's friend was and had narrowed it down to 1 of 5 people, you being one of them.
At first, you must have wondered 'who is this Tracey who has the same grandparents as me?' but then you probably worked it out. If you are the daughter of Denise Graves then I can tell you that I am the daughter of Denise's youngest sister Carol. Yes, we are cousins!!
As you are probably aware, I never knew my mother as she left me and my dad when I was only a few months old. I guess the fact that I knew nothing about her or her/your family was the reason I started researching my family history really. I know who most of your family are by name and I know of you because of a listing in an electoral register and had assumed that you were the daughter of Denise.
I'd really like to hear from you if only to learn a bit more about the family I never knew. In return, I'd be more than happy to share the research I have done on our common ancestors - I've got quite a lot of information on the Pidd and Graves lines.
