I am the great granddaughter of Jason Carr Pidcock who lived in Hill County, Texas. I believe that his father was Baker Pidcock, but I am not sure. What I am sure of is that he had a brother named Lyle. This was actually the only family my mother ever heard him speak of and Lyle came to see them a few times but my mother was so little when Lyle came that she could not remember much except that he came once on a really large horse. And one other time he came in a wagon and they stayed for a few days because the lady with him was expecting and she thought the lady must have miscarried the baby because she was so sick. Jason Carr Pidcock was born in 1856.He is buried in the Covington Cemetery in Hill County, Texas. If you think he may be of your family, please reply directly to me at nanaryoung@yahoo.com Thanks, Rita

Hello I have a copy of the rejection papers reply to John Henry's application I have my file tied up with a Sinc trying to make the file as neat as possible. John Henry makes Application in 1908, The dates are often Jumbled.
I have also read the history of Service to the CSA he joined in 1861 he served until the end of the War (Very close if not the end.) The story goes in the papers he deserted, and was captured by the Union, They didn't keep him in a Prison but they made him stay in the area. So he couldn't get back with his Unit. I have the 1870 Census and Aaron, I believe was the first Child he was 4 years old on the the 1870 census so that would mean he and Margaret Catherine was married maybe Late in 1865, probably born in 1866/67 depending on the time of Year. While I do not have a date for the marriage I am guessing at the time of Marriage due to the childs birth. The story also of his being in Grayson County, TX, I did not find Catherine in his household 1880, I don't have a death date for Baker but I know Nancy B Pidcock was living in Collin County, she was living next door to William and Florence Holt. There was 2 of the Eddings Children living with her but, I haven't a clue I feel strongly its Nancy Pidcock since the age fits location of birth fits and the Children. She was their Grandmother. on the 1870 census they were living next door to Baker and Nancy in Washington County, Arkansas, Where I think Baker passed. (I have found no grave location)
On the application 1908 He swears with a list of his children that he only had one wife and these children were the product of the marriage. He also states his mother was the Native American and they lived just over the line In Oklahoma they lived in Arkansas at the time. The one this this was a rejection to his claim. If some one is interested in looking this up there is several volumes of books name "CHEROKEE BY BLOOD" This is sort of a genealogy of the tribes, i do't know how correct they are but have talked to folks that use them as very helpful. I know some have Catherine as the daughter of Ira B Pidcock. Margaret Catherine was born abt 1842 and Ira's daughter as being born 1844. Ira and Malinda (Shoemate)Pidcock, stayed and his family in Missouri. Baker moved to Arkansas in the the 1850, They were on the 1860 and 1870 census. I don't have all the children but most. I have found this additional info since the last post. I do know he went into the military as Single.
