Information and listings from the France Cemetery on the Todd Co., Ky GenWeb - Google will take you there. I have done a reasonable amount of research on the Pidcocks. Horatio m. to Martha S. (I can't find anything on her either or a record of their marriage) Horatio is the s/o Liner Pidcock and Ruth Stevenson. After Ruth died abt 1856 Liner m. Sarah A. Blankenship in 1857. Liner is s/o Horatio Pidcock b. 1765 in N.J. and his wife Ann?? (can't find anything abt her either). My ancestor is Ira B. Pidcock, a bro. of Liner.

Not sure how it might halp the France Cemetery was originally a family plot. I had a decendent of the France family get in touch with me while back, he was trying to solve the mystery of who the rest of the people are that is buried there and how they are related. I have his name and email but to be fair would rather email him and have him hop on the board and reply himself, I don't know how much he has learned but maybe he has learned something. Lillie

Yes, I'm still looking for the connection and thanks for the alert on this one. I am a descendant of Robert N. France, one of the France family who is buried in that cemetery. I have yet to find out how the France family is connected to the Pidcock family and still would like to know. At this point, my only assumption is that they were close friends, probably neighbors as well, so the France family offered space to Horatio and his family. If anyone knows any more than this, I would sure like to know.

There is assumption that one of his wives he had 2 may be from the France (Assumptions I don't trust but could have some merit.) there should be marriage records somewhere for this. he was married H Pidcock 33 M L Pidcock 29 -M E Pidcock 8 -M F Pidcock 5 L A Pidcock 3 -M E Pidcock 21 here is the France Cemetery list PIDCOCK --- The 4 are younger than 2 when they died. DAVID L. PIDCOCK (1859 – 1859)(8i) JOSEPH U. PIDCOCK (1850 – 1850)(8i) JAMES H. PIDCOCK (1864 – 1866)(9g) JEFFERSON B. PIDCOCK (1868 – 1869)(9i) HORATIO PIDCOCK (1826 – 1899)(8g) This is of course horatio son of Linear Pidcock MARTHA L. PIDCOCK (1866 – 1868)(9h) this child was like 2 years ld when she passed. MARTHA S. PIDCOCK (1829 – 1878)(8h) His first Wife. SARAH A. F. PIDCOCK (1851 – 1884)(8f) This is the one all suspects could be his wife but I really don't know. How many children was born to Horatio I don't know that.

It has taken me years but I think I can explain this. By the way, I lived as a child on the farm owned by Robert Nathan France, then John Ewell France, then my grandmother Louise France Flack. The Pidcock Family and the France Family were friends, neighbors and family. The 1870 Census shows that Horatio Pidcock and William France, Horatio's father, were next-door neighbors. They were connected hrough a series of marriages involving Pidcocks, Watsons, Adams, and Frances. Robert Nathan France married Rebecca Jane Adams. Her parents were Thomas M. Adams and Angeline M. Lindsey. Thomas and Angeline had a son named William Thomas Adams, who married David Ella Watson. Ella's parents were David L. Watson and Priscilla Jane Hardin. David and Priscilla had a son named William E. Watson, who married Nancy A. Pidcock. Nancy's father was Harvey Pidcock, Horatio's brother.
When going through the names in the France Cemetery, you will see how these surnames pop up over and over again. Apparently, they continued their friendship and relationships through the years. That's conjecture, of course, but probably a pretty good guess. I hope this helps someone. It certainly helped me to clear it up.

Just to clarify, the Pidcocks and the France family weren't my friends. They were friends with each other. I am a descendant of the France family and never actually knew anyone named Pidcock.

The Horatio in the France cemetery is son of Liner Pidcock. son to my 4 x G Grandad. I have been trying to find more on them as well. I feel pretty certain I have his father and maybe a lead on William Pidcock's Father but its before the Rev war.Hard to come by some of the stuff back at that time. but continue to check stuff out. Thanks for the reply someone said they thought he was married to a girl name France but can find nothing to support it. I know there was 2 ladies have the name of the first I try not to make assumptions, I have documents on most everything I have on my Tree. Thing is when you can't find them almost have to assume they died without issue. Thanks again and Happy hunting.
