Baker Pidcock, a son of Horatio Pidcock and Ann Baker was my ggg-grandfather. I am descended from his daughter Catherine who married John Henry Eddings, and can share information on their line, if anyone needs it. I am looking for the maiden name of Baker's wife Nancy, and any info on their children.

I am a decendent of Baker Pidcock and Nancy Branson is what I have for maiden name. I am from his son Lyle Singleton Pidcock and Aisley Anna Johnson through their daughter Pearl Pidcock. I have the father of Horatio as William but not 100% sure that is truth. I have been looking at ships list for the 1600 -1700 for John Pidcock that migrated to Bucks County, PA shows up 1680. My infomation says Baker was born in KY. and Horatio was born in NJ. if that helps. but I haven't found anything to confirm that. I do have Horatio's burial spot as Todd Co. KY hope this helps some I have found other stuff but trying to piece it together and its confusing .

I am also a descendant of Horatio thru his son, Ira B. Pidcock. From the research of a Pidcock inlaw (not documented), Stice Goodwin, now deceased, the family of Liner Pidcock, we are told Horatio was b. N.J. and his wife's name was Ann? The best documentation we have is the Hopkins Co., Ky Deed Books and Minutes. In Deed BK V, p.338, 8-3-1829, the heirs and wife of Horatio are mentioned in the settling of his estate, so it is likely he died in Hopkins Co. The Horatio in Todd County d. abt 1899 and is the son of Horatio's son, Liner. Many Libraries have these Hopkins County, Ky deed books on file. Also, there is a will on file in of John Baker of Evesham, Burlington Co., N.J. (will proven 1-8-1774) which mentions a Roseannah Baker, daughter, and a g/son "Oratio Pitcock." Some researchers (including me) believe this is our "Horatio."

Thanks for the Reply. I am in the middle of rebuilding a lot of information I lost so its been a while since i have done any serious digging. for anything new. But I did run across some Bucks County Pennsylvania information. I feel this information will eventually belong in the data base just a matter of digging the information out if its still out there. John Pidcock came into the Country some where around 1680 he built a home there. He had sons one of which ran the ferry on the Bucks county side. and across the River was Hunterdon County, New Jersey. Hunterdon county at that time was much larger and Mercer County was part of the County that was taken from it. I feel there is good evidence that the Pidcocks of New Jersey and Pennsylvania are connected. Making the connection is going to be the challenge. The information is sketchy.. and to tell the truth spelling is one big issure. Pidcock on Pennsylvania side and Pitcock as well but no different in New Jersey also when you search at time Pidcoc is also worth trying sometime you also get a Piddock as results don't know abt that one. I did find Horatio in Hopkins Co on the 1810 Census the age would have to be 40 or older according to this census so 1770 would be a good number maybe 1765 for his b day.If I am reading this right looks like he had 4 boys and 3 girls. Will share what I have if your interested I can email you a pretty good likeness of GGrandad Lyle Singlton Pidcock. Its and old black and white photo but you can tell what he looked like. let me know Thanks for your info.

Lillie, do you know where Lyle got his name? I have wondered if it were after Lyle Singleton who was a J.P. and held other offices in Crawford Co. and a Court Clerk in Phelps co. (you can read abt him on the Phelps Co. web site.) You have got to admit this was a different name of the time, if it weren't a family name but I have cases where in a large family after the family names were exhanusted the children were named for a pastor, Dr., or prominent person in the Community .

Yes, I would like to see a picture of Lyle and I will send you pic of James Samuel Pidcock, s/o of his father's bro., Ira B. and my ancestor. they would have been 1st cousins. Wonder if there is a family resemblence?

Not sure where he got his name. Sad to say I only know abt him what I have learned in the research, Mother didn't spend that much time with the grandparents to know them well, she married early a few months before she was 15 and they worked really hard raising the family. Sometimes I really think they never talked much abt family. She passed in 05 just before her 98 birthday. I am trying to persue the Bucks Co, Pa. I did find a book online it was court records one of the cases was concering John Pidcock went on for few months, but this book is hard to read they used the language of the day which is very antique and English spelling. i will get there just will take some time. Thanks again Lillie

I am a descendant of Robert N. France and came across Horatio Pidcock's name in the France Cemetery in Todd County where I am from. I am trying to find some information on Horatio's fourth wife (?) Sarah A. F. Pidcock. I believe, because of their burial in the France Cemetery, that Sarah might have been Sarah A. France. If anyone has any information that might help me with this, I would sure appreciate it. So far, I have figured out the connection of the Watsons, Johnsons, and Harrises to the France family, but I can't make the connection to Horatio.

The Horatio that is in Todd County Cemetery is a grandson of the Horatio that is my 3 great grandfather not much help I guess. I don't have anything on him, when your looking for the Pidcock name don't forget to run Pitcock as well they seem to have used both with other spelling listed on one of the census records as Bedcock so anything is possible. Would Love to help if I could. Lillie
