Karen--I happened to notice your post above and thought I'd ask--just in case--if you might have any information to help in a search I'm involved in. My grandfather, Meredith Gowan, II, married first to Anna Adelina Pickering in 1886 in Navarro County, Texas. "Annie" Pickering and her brother Bryant R. Pickering (born about 1871) were orphaned and raised by Ira Pickering, son of Naaman. I've never been able to prove who the parents of Annie and Bryant were. We think that their father might have been Ira's brother William and that William may have married a woman named Evaline but we don't know for sure. I haven't been able to find Ira on any census other than the 1880 of Navarro County, Texas. Do you have any information on Naaman's son William, or maybe his son Bryant??
