Surnames: Picard, Stott, Joseph
I am looking for information regarding my grandfather, Arthur Jacques Picard, married to Catharine Oakley Stott probably around 1915. He was from Baton Rouge, LA and his mother, Caroline nee Joseph may have been from from Selma Alabama. He worked in New York City and lived in Bronxville, NY.

I'm not sure if they are the same, but I have a Caroline Joseph Picard born Sept 1 1846 in New Orleans she died in Selma, AL. She was married to Maurice D. Picard (Pickard) and had a son named Victor Arthur Picard born Jan 8, 1875. I have more on my tree. These part of my tree has been a bear to trace so I don't have much, but hopefully this will be helpful.

Haven't focused on this in years, but found one of my earlier postings:M.D. Picard, my great-grandfather, was born in Alsace, France on March 16, 1830 and died Sept. 9th 1889. He married Caroline (Carrie) Joseph ,who was born in Biloxi, Mississippi Sept 1, 1846 and died August 2, 1884. They lived for a while in Demopolis, Faunsdale and Selma Alabama. Two children: Alphonse and Clarence Tilde died at young ages and my grandfather, Arthur Jacques Picard was born in 1882. I believe he may have been sent to live with realtives in the Baton Rouge, LA area. So YES, they appear to be the same; I would love to know more.

About 10 years ago I actually found M.D. and Caroline's graves in Selma. They were buried in the Jewish Cemetery! Very ironic, as their son, Arthur Jacques, disinherited my mother for marrying a Jew. I think he never knew about his parents!
