Could the name that you are looking for be Bercier instead of Bursie. Do you have any first names to go along with Bursie?

The biggest majority of My Picard line originated in the Province of Quebec Canada. Some have migrated to the US in the eastern states (New England mostly). I am very interested if you have any info on a Simon Picard, son of Antoine Picard and Marie Nadeau, born Feb. 4, 1886, married Anna Phaneuf and lived his later years in Rhode Island. He was my grandfathers brother and I met him once when I was much younger, possibly in the 1950's. I know he was living with a child, not sure if it was a son or daughter. I can find nothing on him no matter where I look. I would appreciate if you have anything on him, if you could share it with me. Thank you, Claire

Surnames: PICARD - GARDNER
I also have a large number of PICARD surnames from Michigan's Upper Peninsula, Keweenaw Bay area in Baraga County. My mother-in-law was when a child in the orphanage at Assinins. The ancestor who first settled in the area was Antoine (aka Peter) PICARD (1799-1882). He married thrice and raised 3 separate families. Some settled in the Lake Linden, Houghton Co., area. He was said to have come from St. Hyacinthe, Prov. Quebec, Canada - however we have not found a birth/baptism record for him - or any record showing who his parents were.
