Hi,
I was born in Terceira, Azores in 1976. My family moved here in 1979. My paternal grandmother lives in Graciosa, Azores. Her first name is Virginia. I have never been back there and I don't know of any other family of ours here in the states. If you think we might be related......let me know!

I am doing research on the Picanco Family. My Grandmother Lidia Picanco was born in Bahia, Brazil around 1888/1890. She married Manual Jose Espinola May 16, 1903 in Guadalupe, Graciosa, Azores. Her parents were Jose Correia Picanco and Olimpia Candida. I would appreciate any information you may have.

Just about all Picanco's are related.
They all can be traced back to Graciosa,
Azores, Portugal. They are now all over the
world. I've met some in France, Germany, Brasil
and Canada. In the US there are large groups in
Lowell, Ma, Chicago, California and Hawaii. I don't
know where you are from but odds are that Lowell,
Ma is the place to start. Most of the Picancos here
still have roots in Graciosa and the island is small.

Thanks Luis for your reply. Yes, My father was born in Graciosa but as a teenager he moved to Terceira. We moved to California when I was 3 years old. In a few short weeks, I will be moving to the East Coast and will hopefully be able to track down an uncle that lives in Mass.
