Surnames: Picaman, Payne
John William Picaman, born September 22nd, 1862 (or 1863), immigrated to Kentucky from Germany, along with his brother--I believe his name was Jake. To my knowledge, they were in their teens, and they may or may not have come by themselves. Before immigration, I've found nothing on their history.

Upon arrival, both brothers changed their names--John to "John William Picaman". John eventually moved inland, to Indian Territory, married Susanna Martha Payne, a full-blood Cherokee, and had what looks like . . . seven children. He is listed on the Dawes Roll as an "Intermarried White".

He lived in Indian Territory until after it achieved statehood. He died in Claremore, Rogers Co., Oklahoma, in 1952.

He is also on the 1900 US Census: http://ftp.us-census.org/pub/usgenweb/census/ok/indian-terr/... ---- CTRL-F search for "Picaman".
