Looking for information on the Pica family from Jersey city NJ. My great grandparents were Rose and Joseph Pica who had numerous children: Catherine, Rose, Peter, Michael, Anthony, Marie, Anna and others whom passed away at young ages. I am looking for information on Rose and Joseph's parents. Anyone with information, it would be greatly appreciated.

I have just found out info on my Great Greandmother who was Angelina Pica, from Jersey City. Angelina was married Guiseppa Flora and they had three children that I know of, Madelina (Mary Coppola), Catarine (Carrie Terranova) and Antonio, who never married. Catarina married Guiseppe Terranova in Holy Rosary Church, Jersey City, in 1913, these are my grandparents. Families lived at 333 and 318 Sipp Ave., Jersey City. Do you know the names of Joseph Pica's siblings? Would love to here from you, Carol

hi i had another look on ellis isl..i see a rosario(posario on the site)who emmigrated from sala consilina in 1911.he lists his father as pietro(peter)and his destination is 24(not 27)white st.jersey city.states he is going to see his brother giuseppe(joseph). i see giuseppe arrived in n.y.c.in 1902 with wife anna rosa, maiden name aumenta.looks like parents of joseph and angelina are giuseppe and ana rosa.regardless these pica's are from sala consilina.my wife's grandfather's brother was married to a langone so my wife is distantly related to michael and giovaninna (langone)pica........walt

I know my great grandfather was Joseph and his wife was Rose Aumenti. They lived in Jersey City. They had many children: Peter, Michael, Angie, Rose, Anna, Tony, Joey and my Grandmother Catherine. My Grandmother married Edward Rondinelli. Does any of this sound familiar?
|
Hello. I just found out the name of my maternal great grandmother, Angelina Pica, through a marriage certificate from Holy Rosary Church in Jersey City. The name Rondinelli is not familiar. As my Grandmother, Caterina Flora-Terranova, died very young (1931)we have no info on her mother and father. Do you have any info on the town where you Great Grandfather may have been born or info on his siblings? It may be that your Great Grandfather is my Great Grandmother's brother. My Grandmother Caterina, was born May 16, 1892. My Maternal Great Grandfather was Guiseppe Flora and my mother remembers Angelina and Guiseppe living in Jersey City. Any info would be helpful, Thank you, Carol

Thank you Walt: Still trying to piece together the family. I will check on the burial records from Holy Name Cemetery and Jesey City/Harimus Cemetery as this may give me more info on Angelina Pica-Flora. The surnames you listed are not familiar. My maternal grandparents, Guiseppe Terranova and Caterina Flora lived at 333 Sip Ave where most of their children were born. Caterina died in 1931 and we had no info on her parents, Guiseppe Flora and Angelina Pica. Will check with my mom (she is 86) to see if she knows of the address you metioned (27 White Street) Will also inquire as to the records from Sala Consilina, we have been looking in Sant Arsenio as this is the town where my grandfather was born and he did own a farm there with his brothers.
