I need some help here! I am looking for the parents of Peter Piant. The information I have says he was born in Canada in 1773. He died Oct 1854 in Florissant (on the outskirts of St. Louis) MO. I have his wife as Elizabeth Creely, b 1781 d.1881. They had 6 children, but I only have the name of one!Let's 'chat' & share & work out the puzzle!
I have a copy of an article written in 1891 about him by his granddaughter Marie Louise Grace that I will be happy to share.

Marie Louise Grace is my great grandmother and I am curious to see the article that you have. If you can email a copy, thank you. The Piant name changes to Payan and is traced back to 17th century France. Payans came from France to Quebec and eventually to Florrisant. Marie Louise Grace married William Kunz of St. Louis. My grandmother was Marie Louise Kunz.

Michael , you are a cousin to my husband. your great grandmother was my husband's grandfather's younger sister. John Andrew Grace married Mary Estelle Sanguinette, had two daughters, Mary Genevieve and Jane Elizabeth. Jane married Richard Schrick (Sr.) and have son Richard Schrick M.D. So do you know any thing about Louisa Watts? Please include me in to what ever info you all have about our common ancestors!

I would be very interested in your Mary Louise Grace article.
My great-grandmother was Loretto Grace, daughter of Andrew Grace and Elizabeth Piant. I have no information on the Grace family before Loretto and would appreciate your help. The only info on the Piant family I have is what I have found on Ancestry.
Thanks,
Dan

Surnames: Piant, Creeley, Withington, Villemain
My great great grandfather (Jules Villemain) married a Catherine Dickson (in 1880, East St. Louis, IL) who listed her parents' names on the marriage certificate as being Peter Piant and Elizabeth Creeley.
In the info. I see on Ancestry/Rootsweb, the only daughter of this couple whose name was Catherine was born in 1810 and married a Withington.
Does anyone have any info. on this daughter of the Piants?
Jules Villemain and his wife Catherine show up on the 1880 census in Clinton County, IL.
He would have been 57, so I didn't expect her date of birth to be 1810.
Can anyone confirm anything about her?
