I saw your message, and do not know if I can help you and I am not really well informed on my heritage. However, my grandfather was Dominico Pianalto and also settled in Tontitown Arkansas. Although, I believe he originated from northern Italy. I can get that information on the exact town. My mother was Mary Catherine (could be spelled with a K) She married Edward C. Barenberg in 1932 and settled in Herndon Kansas, (NW part of Kansas). We think that possible birth and baptism records are different. She was born on April 15, 1900.

If you think there is any connection, please contact me, and I will see what I can find out for you. My email address is ebaren@uoli.com. Please write me on my email as opposed to this message board. I check it more frequently.

Hello, my husband's grandfather came from Italy to Tontitown as one of the first settlers when he was 5 years old. He was the son of Domenico and the sibling of Evelinda, Iginia, & Giacinto. These are the ones born in Italy and came with their father. When did Reno come over, his name is not listed with the original settlers who came in 1898-1900? Do you have other family members names, as I can ask my father in law? You can e-mail me directly at patty5775@hotmail.com or post a message here. I check both frequently.

I read in the Message Board that you are looking for information on your g'g'father Reno Rianalto Pianalto. My father was (Giacinto) George Pianalto who came over from Italy when he was 18 mo. old. He lived in Tontitown, Ark. until he was 12 or 13. My mother gathered a great deal of information on our family tree which my sister, Marjorie, has kept up with. She may have some information should you wish to contact her. Just let me know. You can reach me at simpas@charter.net

Hello,

I've been looking for information on my family (Pianalto) and came across a book written about the Pianalto family in Tontitown. It's called "A tribute, pursuit of the American dream" by Robert Ignatius Domenic Pianalto.

Based on the information you provided, it seems to be connected. I'm not quite sure if our families are connected at all.

Here is a link for more information:

I hope this helps your search.

I have just begun researching my family and, according to my mom, this is definitely our Pianalto side of the family in this book (cool!). Do you know how to get a copy of it?

Thanks,
Jessica

It looks like you could order or download the book through the same site (FamilySearch.org). Here's a link with directions:
http://www.familysearch.org/eng/helps/default.asp?topic=

If you want to sign up to order or look into the site more (and search more for you family), here is a link to the home page:
http://www.familysearch.org/eng/default.asp

Through a WorldCat search, you can see the book is located in a library in California: http://www.worldcat.org/oclc/26472431&referer=brief_resu...

Hope this helps!
