My Grandfather was named Guiseppe Piacente. My Mother was Frances, born in 1929. May this be the Frances you are inquiring about?

It is 2010, and I just found this post. I don't remember reading it before. Your Antonio & my Guiseppe may be brothers. Can we share information? My email is: riffith @ verizon. net--no spaces. Please contact me. They came from the same place in Italy. Both lived in Hazelton, PA. Our relative later lived in Windber, PA- near Johnstown.

Thanks for the reply. The only clue I have his is from his obit in 1931- a brother Anthony of New York, & William of Chicago. His parents were Vito & Rose (Smapalo) Piacente. From the LDS Center, on microfilm I ordered, I tried to find Piacente families, but could not. Have your or anyone been able to find birth records from this village? Perhaps I ordered the wrong microfilm.

Hi,my grandfather Antonio Piacente came to the US in 1901 from San Vito, to join his brother Guiseppe Piacente in Hazleton,Pa. (From the Passenger Ship logs on ancestry.com.) I also found a Franceso Piacente arriving in the US with Hazleton as his destination. All Brothers of Guiseppe?? Does anyone know where Guiseppe relocated after Hazleton?

My great-grandfather was Guiseppe Piacente. My grandmother was born in Hazelton, PA. They moved to Windber, PA, Somerset Co, before 1901.

I have been trying to find other relatives in the Piacente family. Please write to me so we can compare notes. I tried to trace this family back to San Vito, but could not.

My email address is riffith @ verizon.net.
