Helen Elizabeth Russell, 88, of Gratiot, died at 3:08 P.M. on Monday, February 11, 2013, at the Genesis Good Samaritan Hospital. She was born March 1, 1924, in Cambridge, a daughter of the late Ray and Jesse Dalrymple Bichard. She worked as a cashier for Thrift Drug and as a dispatcher for Nicholson Refrigeration, and was a member of Brownsville Methodist Church.

Surviving are her beloved husband of 66 years, Harold Russell, whom she married September 22, 1946; a daughter Nancy Phillis of Gratiot; a son Timothy Russell of Frazeysburg; five grandchildren, Samantha (Rick) Hydell, Morgan (Ray) Adams, Jody (Jen) Russell, Jennifer Russell, and Timothy Jared (Crystal) Russell; seven great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; a sister Virginia Bichard of Zanesville; special family friend Dawn (Jack) Fitch of Coshocton; and a special dog companion Greta.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother Richard Dale Bichard.

Friends and family may call from 2:00-4:00 P.M. & 6:00-8:00 P.M. on Friday, February 15, 2013, at the Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Avenue, Zanesville, where funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, February 16, 2013, with Pastor Thomas Uppole officiating. She will be laid to rest at Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery, Zanesville.
