About all I have been able to find out about Zillman was he was born in SC and married a lady by the name of Rosanna. That is all we know. He is shown in the 1830 census there. Then I loose him and he doesn't surface again until 1860 when he shows up and marries his son, Alfred to Elizabeth McCarter in Marshall County, Al. He is also shown as living in Dekalb County, Al. We are almost positive that Alfred Phillips is his son. Alfred has a son who in one census is listed as Alfred and the next census he is shown as Zillman. Zillman was a Primitive Baptist Minister. Alfred was a Miller and I am told he ran a Grist Mill. Alfred's son Benjamin F. was my great grandfather. He married Rachel Mariah Little the first time in Dekalb County. Then he married Elizabeth Reed in Marshall County. He is buried at Swearengin in Marshall County, Al. No grave has been found for Zillman or Alfred or their wives.
