As I read your message about your Alfred Phillips it dawned on me that my Alfred that I have been looking so long for could be your Alfred and could have married more than once. I have a 30 year span that I cannot account for hiw whereabouts. I do know he married Elizabeth McCarter in Marshall County, Al. He was married by Zillman Phillips who was a Primitive Baptist Minister. My first glimpse of Zillman Phillips who must have been my Alfred's father was in Greenville County, SC. Then it is 1860 when they both resurface and they are in Alabama by then. I may have corresponded with you but can you trace your Alfred and when was he born?
