After about 6 generations the odds of recognizing inheritance fade fast. I've done 23andme and show 0.1% East Asian/Native American. Even if it isn't just noise, it's no proof of descent from any individual. To gather enough data it would require a lot of paper trail descendants with DNA testing and some luck.

Maybe someone will start a project on gedmatch? In the meantime, a mtDNA descendent would be a great find.
