this is Betty Sanders again.I am sorry I
have not answered you earlier but I work all the time. I work two jobs and sometimes three jobs. Mama is doing ok. She is still having to be tube feed and has to have total care. I am looking forward to all of you coming down to see us in July. When we were out in Ok. I remember a little red headed girl about 9 or 10 years old that my son Darrell thought was cute. Do you by any chance know what her name was. she was a pretty little thing. As soon as Tim can get the geneology he is suppose to send it to you. I have still not had a chance to look for pictures. I will try to do that this weekend. I am sorry I am so slow but with mama and my jobs I really don't have time to do much else. I know how it is when you want something real bad and can't get it, but I promise I will look this weekend. We love all of you and please let me hear from you soon. Don't be like me and be slow about it.

Betty, Don't feel bad about not being able to move the world all at once. I took care of my parents and know how it is. I was glad they moved in with me and wouldn't change it if I could. What do the family members usually share at the reunion and about how many are expected. Is there a web site by anyone for the family tree? I don't know who the redhead was. It may have been Betty Lou's daughter but I can't remember her name. She would have been the granddaughter of John Buckhannon, brother of Ervie Ann Buckhannon Phifer. I will try to find out her name.

I have looked for pictures of the Phifer family but there are a lot of them I don't even know and mama cannot tell me who they are. I guess we will have to go through them when you come to the reunion. I hope you are still coming. I certainly would like to meet all of you. Please given me your telephone number. I think that the lady that sits with mama threw it away. I can't seem to find it. Please send it to me on the internet.

Looking forward to seeing you at the reunion.

Love you Betty

Sorry but I can't make the reunion this year, I also had to cancel the Smith Reunion at Boggy Depot next week-end. My diabetic brother who has CHF seems to be having a bit of trouble, possibly MRI's so I need to stay close. Nakeeta and Violet are both going to be there if Violet can make the trip. She is really looking forward to it and says she definately will be going. I think itwill be Violet and her two daughters, Nakeeta and Susan. I think I must have mailed Nakeeta the only copy I had of your email address, phone number and PO mailing address, I can't find it. Enjoy your reunion.

Surnames: Phifer, McComas, Moore
Hi, I recognized the name Louise Cash Collins from looking up who contributed my ancestors names for temple work. They were of the McComas/Phifer lines. My great-grandmother was Lucy McComas born in 1861, married to Harvey Daniel Moore born in 1855 in Tn. Her parents were Elisha Sinclair McComas who died in 1885 and Mary Helen Phifer born in 1833 and died in 1913. Her father's name was Henry Phifer and her mother's last name was, I believe, Zimmerman. The names were done in the Provo Temple in 1977.
Anyway, I wrote to her asking for more information about the family, how she fit in, sources of information etc., but no reply came. As I mentioned in an earlier post, I have pictures of Elisha Sinclair McComas, Mary Helen Phifer, Lucy McComas, also a family album of one picture of each of the Moore/McComas relatives---all without names---so I would really enjoy meeting with other relatives who could identify them. I only identified Mary Phifer's tin type because we had in our possession an artist's drawing, and enlarged version of the tin type. It was brought to Kansas from Ky.
I am especially interested in learning about my great-great-grandmother Mary Helen Phifer. By some fluke, the wrong year for her birthdate was entered in our computer and her name cleared for temple work. We had a glorious experience together in the Washington Temple.

Surnames: Phifers or Pifer or Fifer
I am looking for my great grandmothers family. She was Pifer or Phifer. She was born in 1839 in Ohio. She was married twice and had eleven children her first husband was John Ray. they had 3 children. She was widowed and married James Newton Simpson from Cisne, Ill. They moved to Black Rock, Ark around 1900. I have always heard about someone in my family being a Doctor and living in Ok. and we have Indian blood. and one of my grandfathers came from Germany. I can not connect the dots. I hope you might have some information you would share with me. I do not know any of my parents relations.. I would like to know where I came from. Thank you, Mary Lewis
