Last Saturday the Phelan case came up for hearing at Bucyrus (OH). The Court decreed the pretended marriage between Phelan and Hannah Jane Green null and void ab initio and so also all conveyances made by her of her real estate to him; and furthermore enjoined him from ever attempting to control her, or her property in any way, so that the parties now stand precisely in the same relations towards each other, as they did before their pretended marriage. Phelan is now "feelin" that the way of the transgressor is hard, for while he is pining in the penitentiary, the courts decreed that he never had a wife for whom to squander an estate.
