Hi Mayda.
Just got a mail from your aunt (there was no sender)
I am not a Phaire, but I have a story about one : Dorrie? Phaire. The fact is that my grandfather spent 5 years in St.Croix 1910-1915. He told us with great affection about the girl he loved, and whom he was not allowed to bring back with him to Denmark. She died from sorrow he told us.
When he died in 1975 I got his diary and an envelope containing a black curl and a yellow one : Miss Phaire and Ulrikke (my grandmother) was written on it.
In his diary he only writes something personal once : Miss Dorrie Phaire dies 4.1.1915.
I think I found a photo , too. She looks like a nurse.
I have always wondered if someone ever heard about her, so please mail me, if this sounds familiar.
I also know, that my grandfather Carl lived in Prinsensgade 47 in Frederikssted before he left

Hi Mayda! My name is Anita. I am a Phair. It has been said that the E got dropped off somewhere along the line in time. I have an Ernest Phair in my line. My Phair's come from Ireland. There were two brothers that fought in Cromwell's Army in England and fled to Ireland. One in the North and one in the Southern part of Ireland. I have/had relatives in the Co. Cork, Ireland area. There are several last names that go with my tree too. Pickering, Crofts and Corban. I have Col. Robert Phayre in my line as well. Please email me at SwthrtPea@aol.com. And we can discuss this further to see if we have a connection. Thanks and happy hunting. Anita

Hi! I think you are my cousin or aunt. My father is Paul William PhaireII. I discovered a young man named John posted a message on the board-he is Ernest Phaire's son, and my cousin.I am researching my ancestry.I am amazed at how
quickly I have found my more immediate family, none of which I have known because I haven't seen my father since I was 5 years old. E-mail me if you'd like! Elizabeth

I have just found out that I may have a connection to Col. Robert Phaire of Cromwell's army. Is this the same Phaire that you referenced? I am still finding out about the lineage between the "Colonel" and Joseph D. Phayer born in Limerick in 1803-1807, came to US prior to 1849, married Mary Murphy in NY in 1849, had first child in NY and then moved to and settled in Alton, Madison Co., Illinois. They had 8 children total. Does this make any connection to your family? Please respond. My email address is kathnel@msn.com. Thanks. Kathleen
