Colonel Robert Phaire of Co. Cork
Those of you with interest in this family may be interested in articles found in the "Cork Historical and Archealogical Society Journal" which include history and genealogy:
"Colonel Phaire, the Regicide." 1914, vol. 20, p. 146.
"Colonel Robert Phair, 'Regicide:' His Ancestry, History, and Descendants," by W. H. Weply, B.A. 1924, vols 29-32.
I have not found any connection to this line, (my PHAIRs from Co. Cavan), but I have looked at the articles at the NYPL. Would be worth checking if your PHAIRs are from Co. Cork.

thank you all for the information that you have provided.
This is what I have at this time; the Phair's orginated in Ireland (Armgad sp). The first Phair that I can trace goes back to Col. Robert Phair (wife unknown); then Alexander Phair, then James Phair (From James Phair on down - James was my great, great, great, great grandfather I believe)
I am just getting started on my research at this time but will keep you posted. Thank you so much and will stay in touch.

Nancy,
I haven't done a lot of research as yet, but my great-grandfather was Alexander Phair. He came from P.E.I., Canada and married Annie Robinson. They had a son Joseph, born in Presque Isle, Maine, and married Florence Pulcifur. They had to sons, Cecil (my father) and Kenneth. If this is relevant to what you are looking for, please let me know.

Thanks for the note Alex
I have just really started getting into the family history.
I have traced the Phair family back to Armagh Ireland.
Not sure of the year they came over to the US but I do have Phair relatives from Presque Isle ME. (I grew up in the town ight next to Presque Isle).
James Phair II moved to Presque Isle from White Hall NY (he was a ship builder and was murdered) His brother, Andrew Phair had 8 children, one of them is my great great grandfather - George Andrew Phair.
James Phair II had 7 children; Alexander, James H; Joseph, Thomas H; Mary, Emma Elizabeth)
I was checking the Registry of Deeds a few wks ago and James Phair II - his children had a lot of land in Presque Isle. Thomas H served as Reprentative and Sentor.
I did not see any direct links with the names that you had but again, I am in the preliminary stages of my research.
good luck and hope to hear from you

Hi Wayne. Just checking the message board. Please let me know what you have on the Col. Robert Phayre. Are you by any chance related to him? He is in my line. I am trying to find others who might be. Hope to hear from you soon. Thanks. Anita

I don't know if our branches connect or not. The farthest back I have found is Henry Farr (Phair) Ulster, b. 1692 d. 1752. His son, Ephraim (d. NC 1784), was my ggggg grandfather. I'll send rest of tree if you think this is the same family. Sandy
