Hi, I am researching the name Phears and discovered it was once Phair in Ireland. Go to the LBS site and you will find a lot of info on the Phair name in Ireland. Some did go to Rhode Island.

Hi! My family name is Phair. Some of my ancestors are from Ireland and England. It is my understanding that the Phair name was spelled at one time with an e' on the end of it. I have never heard of it being spelled Phaers and later to Phair (from Ireland). Are you talking about the LDS website? I am already familiar with this one and would like to find out more on the Phair family of different spellings. The Phair's that I want to find information about are from Buttevant, Co.Cork, Ireland. Any information will help. Thanks. Hope to hear from you. Anita

the Phairs I am seeking came from Cork and emigrated to Lancashire. Mathew Phair, a cordwainer, Married Anne White in Liverpool in 1828. Cordwainers seem to pop up in a lot of the research I've done. There may be a cooaecttion with a John Condon of Cork, also a cordwainer in the 1830.s. Any one else coming up with Phairs who were cordwainers?
