Hi! I too am looking for a Joseph Phair though considerably earlier, Joseph was a master painter in London, born circa 1800
his son James was married at St Margret's Parish church Westminster 7/7/1845 James's son James Edward Phair was born 13/5/1847 St Giles Middlesex. I belive the family may be from Cork, possibly his elder brother was Stephen Phair the convict who was sentenced to transportation to Australia for life from Waterford aboard HMS ATLAS in 1802 (maybe not)
As you can see I have lots of research to do!
thank you in anticipation.
Martin Phair (England)

I am trying to find out about the above person, who was my grandfather's first wife. She married George BELLETT, they lived in the east end of London, and had a daughter, Mary Eileen (Molly) before Lily died of tuberculosis in the 1920s. All I have of her is a photograph and a birthday card, sent to her by my grandfather. I believe she was Irish. Any information?

I am Afrcan American male.I have been asked on many occassions about my last name.It seems (from from reading the various responses)that I have an Irish Surname. The implications should be obvious and very interesting to say the least. My father's name was Eugene Phair.Born June 1,1913 in or around Rayford N.C. His father was called Fletcher Phair, same area .Please respond if you have any information to share.

Hello: I am not a Phair, but my friends people are all Phairs and he asked me to try to find his folks and also an old meetingplace called Tuckers Grove Camp meeting, I suppose it was a family reunion for African American Phairs amoung others. His name is Robert L Hoke, his mother was Amelia Phair, there's also Thomas, Katie, James, Horace, and an Ida Burton, if any of these are familiar please email me. Mr. Hoke just turned 90 and would like to find his family and any news regarding Tuckers Grove in North Carolina.
