He enlisted in the North Carolina militia during the revolutionary war at Mecklenburg County, N.C.. He was aprivate under Capt. Alexander and Major Bow. He started as a wagoner and then was promoted to Lieutenant in the cavalry. He died in the Abbeville District of South Carolina. His widow was granted a pension in Gwinett County, Georgia. I know he was enlisted in Mecklenburg County, N.C. during the revolutionary war. He was a private under Captain Alexander and Major Bow in the North Carolina militia. The was a Wagoneer and then was promoted to the cavalry as a Lieutenant. He died in the Abbeville District of S.C.. His widow was granted a veteran's pension in Gwinnett County, Ga. on August 3, 1844. I have a access to a Book on the Pharrs and trace Samuel in both directions. My mother was a Pharr and was born and raised in Gwinnett as were many generations before her. They lived in Dacula, Ga.. Most of the Pharr family continues to reside there. She has what we believe to be Samuel's rifle powder horn. I'd like any all information you can supply me with so I can provide this to a history professor in the King's Mountain area by the name of Bobby Moss who will officially register Samuel as a revolutionary veteran. I have no doubt our descendants will thank us for the effort. I made a preliminary search in the register for N.C. veterans and did not find Samuel included. To be officially registered, Moss asked for as much proof as possible. My tel number is Home: (706) 769-0871; Work: (706) 769-0871.

Edward Phair the proposed father to this Samuel also had a son Jonathan. Would you happen to have any information on Jonathan's marriage or chronology of his life? Jonathan was probably born around 1770-1778. I have a few pages from the Pharrs and Farrs, but does not include pages where Jonathan might appear. Thank you for any assistance.
