David, The Farrs were both, Presbyterian and Quaker. The records I can recover in Ireland indicate they were part of Cromwells party moving into Ireland from Scotland as Presbyterians, but late in the 1600's and early 1700's part of the family embraced the Quaker faith. Records indicate Ephraim Farr migrated age 9 with his widowed mother and siblings to Pennsylvannia with the Quaker leader from Antrim, Roger Lewis. All indications are Ephraims first wife, Hariet, was the daughter of Roger Lewis. By the late 1700's the family had returned to the Presbuterian faith (Cumberland Presbyterian Church).

Alan: I hope that you are still available to help clear up some confusion, or anyone else please help... You said that Henry Pharr died in 1750 in Antrim Ireland and that his widow immigrated to the US with thier children. In another post you mentioned that Ephriam (Henry's son) was 9 years old when he immigrated with his mother to the US. Every thing that I have been able to find gives a birth date of 1727 for Ephriam. If he immigrated to the US at age 9, this would have occured in 1736 (14 years before Henry died). Can you please help to clarify the birth and death dates for Henry Pharr (Farr) and Ephriam Pharr (Farr). Also, do you know when or where Henry's widow died?
thanks
