response to Daniel Pfuntner
Hi Daniel! My dad's family also came from Germany. My dad's father's name was Willis Pfuntner. He was told that in 1896 John,Edward and Rose Pfuntner came to the Us from Germany.I can't find any info on that. Could you tell me your father's name? Your grandfather's name on your dad's side? Any siblings your dad had or your grandfather? You can email me directly if you would like. Thank-you so much for responding to my inquiry. Have a nice day!

What a frustrating venture! Thanks for all the info, I really appreciate it. My dad was told that he had relatives that came from Germany to Ellis Island in 1896. It seems the records of that yr were destroyed in a fire! I have found alot of Pfuntner's in NY, FL and Texas. Sure would be nice to know if they were related! I even found a Pfuntner on a Passenger list that came from Germany. Guess I will just keep digging at it! Have a Nice Day! Mary :o)

Mary I came across your correspondence with Daniel Pfuntner. I think I can add something to what you know. As I understand the Pfuntner history, the family is descended from Joseph Pfuntner, who came to the U.S. from Prussia around the time of the U.S. Civil War. Was was a tombstone carver who lived in Dansville, NY. There is a rather impressive monument in the Green Mountain Cemetary there. It gives his dates as March 15, 1824 to April 30, 1893. My father was Carl H. Pfuntner, son of Charles H. Pfuntner. If your grandfather was Willis W. Pfuntner, then both he and your father were at least acquainted with mine. I have some more information, if I can find it. Let me know if you are interested.

MY dad was told that John,Edward and Rose Pfundtner( and possibly a 3rd brother) came to the US in 1896 at Ellis Island. My dad said he could be mistaken about the date. They settled in Dansville,NY.It seems the records at that time were destroyed in a fire. My grandfather was Willis Pfuntner( a very gentle man). I have come across alot of Pfuntner's with and with without the d. I just wish I knew who were my ancestors. Well have a nice day! Mary
